Job Details:
- Join a busy and growing Department of Cardiac Surgery as an operating room Physician Assistant within the Heart & Vascular Institute
- Work under the direction of a cardiothoracic surgeon performing a variety of clinical duties
- First assist in cardiovascular surgical procedures
- Perform endoscopic vessel harvesting
- Conduct preoperative history and physical examinations
- Provide postoperative care in an outpatient clinical setting and deliver patient education
- Schedule is Monday through Friday with periodic weekday and weekend call
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Master's program
- Must be licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant in the state of Connecticut
- Must be certified, or eligible to be certified, as a Physician Assistant
- 2+ years of experience in cardiovascular surgery preferred; new graduates with the right qualifications will be considered
- First assistant experience, including endoscopic vein harvesting skills, preferred
- Newly graduated and experienced providers are provided with comprehensive support, mentorship, and training
