Advanced Practitioners - Surgery
Job Details:
- Join a highly collaborative, APP-led orthopaedic team with meaningful autonomy and strong physician partnership
- Work alongside 4 experienced APPs supporting 9 orthopaedic surgeons across the full spectrum of orthopaedic inpatient care
- Open to Physician Assistants or Acute Care Nurse Practitioners with orthopaedic experience
- First-assist in the OR and manage pre- and post-operative care
- Handle ED and inpatient orthopaedic consults
- Gain diverse exposure to joint arthroplasty, sports medicine, trauma, hand, and spine cases
- Full-time schedule with rotating shifts; night shifts are call from home with premium differentials offered
- Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans
- Develop plans for further evaluation of patient health needs including referrals to specialists and care team members
- Provide treatment for problems within scope of practice and identify issues requiring physician referral
- Requires unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License or eligibility
- Must be a certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Orthopaedic Surgery required
