This acute-care community teaching hospital operates across multiple campuses and holds a Level III Trauma designation, supporting an expanding referral base with increasing patient volume and acuity. The facility is part of one of the largest non-profit, fully integrated healthcare systems in Connecticut, offering providers access to state-of-the-art clinical technology including EPIC, and a collaborative environment where Advanced Practice Providers and residents each run their own distinct surgical services.

Job Details:
- Join a dynamic General Surgery team covering a wide variety of subspecialties including Thoracic, Vascular, ENT, Colorectal, Urology, Breast, Endocrine, Surgical Oncology, and Plastic Surgery
- Role open to Physician Assistants or Acute Care Nurse Practitioners
- Responsibilities include first assisting in the OR, admissions, discharges, rounding, bedside procedures, and surgery consults
- Work in collaboration with several surgeons across multiple surgical subspecialties
- Inpatient, general surgery setting
- Full-time schedule with rotating 3x13-hour shifts
- No call required
- Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans
- Develop plans for further evaluation of patient health needs including referrals to specialists and care team members
- Provide appropriate treatment within defined scope of practice under established guidelines and in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Must hold an unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License or be eligible to obtain one
- Minimum of 1+ year of experience, preferably in a surgical or related setting
- Dedicated support through a system-wide Office of Advanced Practice
- Access to mentorship and orientation programs designed for newly hired providers and those new to practice
- Continuous professional development opportunities including CME, leadership development programs, and an on-demand learning platform
