Advanced Practitioners - Surgery

Job Details:

• Open to Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners in an inpatient trauma surgery setting
• Join an award-winning AP team that was recently recognized as AP Team of the Year
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering care for trauma patients across the emergency room, operating room, surgical floors, critical care units, and outpatient settings
• Full-time position with 3x13 hour shifts with premium differentials offered
• No call schedule required
• Extensive training and onboarding provided including management and resuscitation of Level 1 trauma patients, first assist OR skills, chest tubes, central lines, and other procedures
• Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial care plans
• Develop plans for further evaluation of patient health needs including referrals to specialists and care team members
• Provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of practice and refer outside-of-scope issues to physician
• Must hold an unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License or be eligible
• Must be a certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
• New graduates are welcome to apply; 2+ years of experience in a surgical setting preferred

• Mentorship and orientation programs available for newly hired providers and providers new to practice
