Locums – APP – Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – General Surgery, New York

Job description

Start Date: As soon as credentialed/compliant (estimated 6-week lead)
Assignment Length: Ongoing (minimum 6 months)
Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call as Needed

Schedule & Coverage

Primary Schedule Options:

Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Patient Volume: 10–15 per day

Call:

Weeknight and weekend call as needed based on call gaps

Call largely covered January–March (may include 1–2 nights)

Heavier call coverage expected the first week of April due to vacations

Practice Setting

Inpatient / OR-based surgical service

Level III Trauma Center

EMR: Epic

Position Details

First assist coverage required

Ability to cover the floor as needed

Floor coverage expected only for longer-term assignments

Shorter-term coverage will be primarily OR-based

Trauma, general, and robotic surgery focus

Orthopedic experience preferred but not required

Requirements

Provider Type: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Board Certification: Required

Licensure: Active New York license in hand

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of recent APP experience

Trauma experience required (Level III or higher)

General and robotic surgery experience required

Certifications: BLS, ACLS

EMR: Recent Epic experience required
