Locum - Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery - General Springfield, MA

Job description

We are seeking an experienced General Surgery Physician Assistant to join a hospital-based surgical team for a night shift inpatient assignment. This role is full-time with no call responsibilities and involves working with a collaborative team across various surgical specialties, including general, bariatric, some vascular, and some gynecologic surgery.

Position Details:
Setting: Inpatient, hospital-based
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week
3 night shifts per week: Two 13-hour shifts and one 14-hour shift
Shift times: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Weekend & Holiday Requirements: Yes – nights, weekends, and holidays required
On-Call Requirements: No call
EMR: Epic
Patient Population: Adolescent, adult, and geriatric
ER Volume: 90,000 annually
OR Team: 8 Physician Assistants, 10 Physicians, and a full complement of surgical staff.

Requirements:
Massachusetts PA License – Required at the time of submission (no exceptions)
NCCPA Certification – Required
Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in general surgery or surgical subspecialties – No new graduates
Availability to start immediately after credentialing.
