This 200-bed acute care facility serves as a major healthcare provider for the Wiregrass region, offering comprehensive medical services with strong surgical programs. The hospital maintains Level 3 trauma designation and provides excellent support for surgical specialists with modern equipment and dedicated staff.

Opportunity:
Physician - Surgery - General

Job Details:
• Provide comprehensive general surgery services with approximately 20 patient encounters per shift
• Must be board certified or board certification eligible in General Surgery
• Handle adult general surgery cases with trauma capabilities (Level 3 trauma center)
• Perform extensive laparoscopic procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, and Nissen fundoplication
• Conduct chest wall and pleural procedures along with chest tube insertion
• Manage vascular surgery including vascular access devices and related procedures
• Perform central line insertion and emergency surgical interventions
• Pediatric general surgery experience preferred but not required
• GI endoscopy skills including upper and lower procedures preferred
• Must maintain active Alabama medical license or IMLC qualification
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Credentialing timeframe approximately 30 days
• PA catheter placement and laser certification preferred
• Call coverage responsibilities as part of surgical team
