Job description

Aya Locums is seeking a General Surgeon for a locum assignment at a hospital in Northern Arizona.

Assignment Details
• Start Date: May 2026
• Contract Length: Varies
• Coverage Type: Call Coverage
• Schedule: May 14 (7:00 AM) – May 15 (7:00 AM)
• Shift Details: 24-hour beeper call
• Call Requirements: 4–6 hours of call-back per day expected

Work Details
• Patient Volume: 1–4 patients per day
• Responsibilities: General surgery coverage including endoscopic procedures
• Required Procedures: Upper and lower endoscopies (recent experience required)
• EMR: Cerner (remote training required prior to or on first day; approximately 3–4 hours)

Practice Setting
• Hospital

Requirements
• Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
• License: Arizona license required or IMLC LOQ accepted
• DEA: Required
• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS
• Experience: Minimum 2+ years post-residency experience required
• Procedure Requirements: Must have completed at least 10 upper and 10 lower endoscopies within the last 12 months
