Job description

Phoenix Indian Medical Center is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible General Surgeon with Breast Surgery experience to provide comprehensive surgical coverage across inpatient, outpatient, breast clinic, endoscopy, operating room, emergency, and call services.

Schedule & Call Coverage

Coverage may include:

Weekday 24-hour call (12 hours in-house, 12 hours on-call)
Variable weekday shifts, typically 10-hour clinic, OR, or endoscopy coverage
Weekend call coverage from Saturday 7:00 AM through Monday 7:00 AM
Weekend in-house rounding/coverage (approximately 5 hours each Saturday and Sunday)
Call-back services as needed

Schedules may vary based on hospital census, clinic needs, and patient volume.

Practice Responsibilities

The selected physician will:

Provide elective, emergent, inpatient, outpatient, breast clinic, and on-call surgical services
Deliver onsite surgical coverage on a rotating basis
Evaluate and manage adult and pediatric surgical patients
Develop and implement treatment and operative care plans
Provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care
Perform major and minor surgical procedures within accepted standards of care
Provide emergency surgical consultations and interventions
Conduct outpatient surgical clinics and office-based procedures
Participate in multidisciplinary patient care and provider consultations
Assist with education of APPs and clinical staff as needed
Complete documentation and medical records in a timely manner
Required Breast Surgery Experience

Breast surgery experience is required for this assignment.

Candidates must be comfortable providing breast clinic coverage, including:

Evaluation and management of benign and malignant breast disease
Breast biopsies
Lumpectomies
Mastectomies
Related breast surgical procedures and follow-up care
Common Procedures
Breast surgery and breast clinic procedures
Open biliary surgery
Endoscopic biliary procedures
Surgical management of diabetic soft tissue infections
General surgery call coverage

Upper and lower endoscopy experience is preferred but not required.

Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
Active, unrestricted medical license
Breast surgery experience required
Ability to provide inpatient, outpatient, clinic, OR, and call coverage
Current vaccinations and credentialing requirements must be met
