Aya Locums is seeking a General Surgeon to provide ongoing call coverage at an Arkansas hospital that relies on consistent surgical support to maintain its trauma designation. This assignment offers long-term flexibility, a predictable block schedule, and a broad general surgery case mix in an inpatient setting.

Assignment Details
• Start Date: March 2 2026
• Coverage Type: 24-hour call
• Shift Coverage: Day and night availability
• Shift Hours: Approximately 7:00 a.m. – 6:30 a.m.

• Schedule Structure:
– 1–2 weeks of coverage per month
– Approximately one weekend per month (flexible)

• Credentialing Timeline: 120–180 days

Clinical Responsibilities
• Specialty: General Surgery
• Call Coverage: Continuous availability to support trauma services
• Procedural Scope Includes:
– Gallbladder and biliary disease management
– Hernia repairs
– Upper GI evaluations, biopsies, and acute care interventions
– Skin and soft tissue procedures (lesions, cysts, masses, lipomas)
– Vascular access procedures, including port placement for medication delivery

• Trauma-supportive surgical service line
• Collaborative multidisciplinary care team

Position Requirements
• License: Active Arkansas medical license required
• Board Certification: General Surgery (required)
• Experience: Comfort managing a wide range of general surgery cases and trauma-related call coverage
• Availability: Ability to provide reliable 24/7 coverage during scheduled weeks
