This 867-bed tertiary care academic medical center is affiliated with the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and serves as a designated American College of Surgeons Level I Trauma Center, supporting a regional catchment population of over 1.5 million. As part of a nine-hospital integrated health system, the facility is home to a nationally recognized Acute Care Surgery program, four Surgical Critical Care fellowship positions, and one of the most advanced medical simulation centers in the world, offering unparalleled opportunities in clinical care, research, and education.

Job Details:

  • Join a high-volume, well-established, and expanding Acute Care Surgery (ACS) service at a leading academic Level I Trauma Center in the Northeast
  • Provide comprehensive care across trauma surgery, surgical critical care, and emergency general surgery
  • Annual clinical volume includes 2,600+ trauma patients, 1,100+ surgical ICU admissions, and 1,500+ emergency general surgery cases
  • Collaborate with a growing faculty of 14 Acute Care Surgeons, with continued program expansion underway
  • Engage in faculty education across medical students, residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers (APPs)
  • Participate in national meeting presentations including EAST, AAST, and the American College of Surgeons (ACS)
  • Access cutting-edge innovation initiatives including AI-driven hypotension prediction models and virtual reality technology for pre-operative planning
  • Engage with the Center for Education, Simulation, and Innovation (CESI), recognized as one of the most advanced medical simulation centers globally
  • Support and participate in ACS research, clinical trials, and health systems innovation
  • Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Acute Care Surgery
  • Completion of a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship required
  • Must be eligible to be licensed in Connecticut
