Facility:
This 162-bed medical center serves as a Level 3 Trauma Certified facility providing comprehensive emergency and inpatient surgical services to the community. The facility focuses on trauma and emergency care without outpatient clinic responsibilities, allowing providers to concentrate on acute care medicine.

Opportunity:
Physician - Surgery - General

Job Details:
• Provide General Surgery call coverage for ER/Trauma and inpatient services
• Handle 1-5 patient encounters per shift at Level 3 Trauma facility
• Schedule: Thursday 5/14/2026 at 7AM to Thursday 5/21/2026 at 7AM
• No outpatient clinic responsibilities - focus on acute care
• Emergency privileges available as an option
• Must maintain active New Mexico medical license, NM controlled substance license, and DEA
• Board certification eligible accepted (board certification not required)
• Required certifications: ACLS, ATLS, BLS
• Rapid credentialing process (1 day timeframe)
• Perform adult and pediatric general surgery including trauma cases
• Laparoscopic procedures required: appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty
• Chest wall/pleural procedures and chest tube insertion required
• GI endoscopy capabilities required (upper and lower, including sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy)
• Central line insertion and PA catheter placement required
• Vascular access device procedures required
• Pediatric surgical procedures including intestinal and biliary artesias
• Management of abdominal wall defects, diaphragmatic hernias, and imperforate anus
• Lodging available at B&J Hotels or Marriott with facility discount rates

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
