This is a Level 3 Trauma Certified hospital facility featuring 162 beds that provides comprehensive surgical and emergency services to the surrounding community. The facility offers strong support for locum providers with no outpatient clinic requirements, allowing physicians to focus entirely on inpatient and emergency surgical care.

Job Details:

• Provide General Surgery Call coverage for ER/Trauma and Inpatient at a Level 3 Trauma Certified facility
• Schedule: Friday 8/28/2026 at 7AM through Wednesday 9/2/2026 at 7AM
• Emergency privileges are an option
• 1-5 patient encounters per shift
• Must hold a current New Mexico Medical License, New Mexico Controlled Substance License, and DEA
• Board certification eligible minimum; board certification not required
• ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications required
• Credentialing timeframe approximately 1 day
• General Surgery required for both adult and pediatric patients
• Trauma surgery required
• Laparoscopic Surgery required, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernioplasty
• Chest wall and pleural procedures required
• GI endoscopy required, including upper and lower endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy
• Chest tube insertion required
• Central line insertion required
• PA catheter placement required
• Vascular access devices required
• Additional pediatric surgical procedures required include intestinal and biliary atresias, abdominal wall defects, umbilical hernia repair, diaphragmatic hernia, imperforate anus, and PDA ligation
