This medical center is a well-established healthcare facility serving the eastern New Mexico region, operating as a Level 3 Trauma Certified facility with 162 inpatient beds. The facility provides comprehensive general surgery and trauma services with strong support for locum providers, offering convenient lodging options and a streamlined credentialing process.

Opportunity:
Physician - Surgery - General

Job Details:

• Provide General Surgery and Trauma Call coverage for ER, Trauma, and Inpatient services at a Level 3 Trauma Certified facility
• No outpatient clinic responsibilities
• Emergency privileges are available as an option
• Scheduled coverage: Friday 4/3/2026 at 7AM through Thursday 4/9/2026 at 7AM
• 1-5 patient encounters per shift
• Must hold an active New Mexico Medical License, New Mexico Controlled Substance License, and DEA
• ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications required
• Credentialing timeframe approximately 1 day
• Perform adult and pediatric general surgery procedures
• Perform trauma surgery as required
• Perform laparoscopic surgery including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernioplasty
• Perform chest wall and pleural procedures
• Perform GI endoscopy including upper and lower procedures, sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy
• Perform chest tube insertion, central line insertion, and PA catheter placement
• Manage vascular access devices
• Perform additional pediatric surgery procedures including intestinal and biliary atresias, abdominal wall defects, umbilical hernia repair, diaphragmatic hernia repair, imperforate anus repair, and PDA ligation
• Nearest airport: Roswell International Air Center
