Locum General Surgeon needed in Florence, Oregon

Job description

Opportunity Details:
• Location: Coastal Oregon
• Start Date: April 15, 2026 (April 14 reserved for orientation)
• Duration: Approved for 6 months, as needed
• FTE: 0.5
• Shift Model: 24-hour call shifts (clinic support as needed; clinic hours Mon–Fri 8a–5p)
• Coverage gaps include:

April 15–20

May 14–25

July 9–13

Sept 2–15

Sept 28–Oct 13 (flexible availability accepted)

Work Details:
• Critical access hospital setting (21 inpatient beds)
• Both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities
• Admissions required; no solo coverage
• Adult patient population
• Average ~10 patients per day
• EMR: EPIC

Procedures & Clinical Scope:
• General surgery for critical access environment
• Colonoscopy and endoscopy required
• Must provide case logs demonstrating surgical activity within the past 24 months

Requirements:
• MD/DO – General Surgery
• Active Oregon license required at time of presentation (expedited credentialing planned)
• ACLS (AHA or Red Cross)
• Must be able to complete credentialing tasks quickly
