General Sugery Call Coverage
Job description
A critical access hospital in Florence, Oregon is seeking a General Surgeon to fill a gap in coverage. This opportunity includes both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities and requires a provider who can move quickly through an expedited credentialing process.
⚠️ Oregon medical license must be in hand at time of presentation.
Candidates must be available to complete all credentialing requirements and verifications promptly.
The facility strongly prefers one provider who can cover the majority of the listed dates but is open to reviewing availability options.
Coverage is needed approximately 5–10 days per month, with the following anticipated dates:
April 14 – Orientation shift
April 15–20
May 14–25
July 9–13
September 2–15
September 28 – October 13
(This is a coverage gap; provider does not need to cover all of these dates. The facility is open to reviewing availability.)

Team Environment: Provider will not work solo
Required Procedures
This is a full-scope general surgery role for a critical access setting. The following procedures are required:
Bread-and-butter General Surgery
Colonoscopy (Required)
Endoscopy (Required)
Clinical Activity Requirements
Applicants must provide:
Case logs demonstrating surgical services representative of the requested scope and complexity within the previous 24 months
If training was completed within the last year, a training log must be submitted
Requirements
Active Oregon License (Required at presentation)
Board Certified/Eligible in General Surgery
ACLS Certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
Ability to complete expedited credentialing quickly and efficiently
- April - October
- 24 hour call is mostly for ED but they will assist in the clinic as needed for follows up
- Colonoscopy and endoscopy required.
