Physician - Surgery - General

Job Details:
• Provide comprehensive surgical care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department settings
• Perform common general surgical procedures including hernia repair, cholecystectomy, endoscopy, appendectomy, management of small bowel obstruction, colorectal surgery, and skin and soft tissue procedures
• Deliver evaluation and management of acute and chronic wounds within the multidisciplinary Wound Clinic model
• Provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of surgical conditions
• Exercise advanced operative skills and strong clinical judgment
• Collaborate closely with anesthesiologists, CRNAs, physician assistants, perioperative and peri-anesthesia teams, emergency department clinicians, hospitalists, and wound clinic team
• Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures, risks and benefits, and post-operative care plans
• Review diagnostic test results and address abnormalities
• Offer surgical input for palliative care, pain management, and end-of-life decision support
• Participate in departmental meetings and engage in ongoing professional development
• Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
• Requires active Vermont medical license and DEA registration
• CPR for Healthcare Providers certification required
• Must have clean malpractice history
• Not open to candidates requiring visa support or commuting more than 1 hour
