Position Overview
Seeking a Board-Certified General Surgeon for ongoing 24-hour call coverage at a community hospital in West Virginia. This assignment offers manageable call volume, flexible scheduling, and the opportunity to secure recurring monthly coverage blocks through the end of the year.

Assignment Details

Start Date: July 1, 2026
Contract Length: 6 months (through December 31, 2026)
Coverage Need: 8 consecutive days per month
Schedule: 24-hour call coverage, 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
Provider must be able to commit to one 8-day stretch per month
Total anticipated coverage: 48 shifts

Community hospital setting
70-bed facility
EMR: Cerner

Clinical Responsibilities

General Surgery call coverage
Average daily call volume ranges from 0–10 calls, typically on the lower end
Manage routine general surgery consults and acute surgical cases
EGD and Colonoscopy experience preferred but not required

Requirements

Board Certification required
Active state license required
DEA required
BLS and ACLS required
Comfortable practicing independently in community hospital setting

Credentialing

Estimated timeframe: Approximately 60 days
Facility willing to license candidates
IMLC or West Virginia temporary license strongly preferred for faster onboarding
