# Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Locum Tenens

## POSITION OVERVIEW

An experienced **Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant** is sought for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in a **PACE clinic** focused on comprehensive care for geriatric and frail elderly patients.

The APP will practice autonomously while working within a collaborative care environment with an on-site Medical Director. The role provides an opportunity to deliver meaningful primary and chronic care to older adults while supporting their ability to remain safely and independently in the community.

## PATIENT POPULATION

The primary patient population consists of **geriatric, frail, and elderly adults**.

The provider should have experience caring for older adults and managing the complex medical needs commonly associated with this population.

## CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The NP/PA will:

* Provide comprehensive primary care to geriatric patients.
* Evaluate and manage frail and elderly patients.
* Provide ongoing management of chronic medical conditions.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
* Practice autonomously within the scope of licensure.
* Collaborate with the Medical Director and interdisciplinary care team.
* Document patient encounters and care plans in **Epic**.
* Support preventive care, health maintenance, and overall patient well-being.

The applicable rate will depend on the assignment and provider qualifications.

## CREDENTIALING

* Estimated credentialing timeframe: **up to 45 days**
* North Carolina license required
* Providers needing to obtain a North Carolina license may be considered.
* Local providers only.

## TRAVEL & MILEAGE

* **Local candidates required**
* No airfare or lodging provided.
* Mileage may be reimbursed at the applicable **IRS standard mileage rate**.
* Only mileage reimbursement is available for local providers.

## CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

* **Board Certified NP or PA – Required**
* **ANCC or AANP certification – Required for NPs**
* Appropriate PA certification – Required for PAs
* Active **North Carolina license – Required**
* **BLS – Required**
* **CDS/Controlled Substance Registration – Required**
* **DEA Registration – Required**
* Minimum **1 year of experience working with frail or elderly patients – Required**
* Geriatric experience or additional geriatric qualifications **preferred**
* Previous clinical experience **required**
* **New graduates are not accepted**
* Must be local to the area
* Must be comfortable practicing autonomously
