Locum Tenens – Inpatient Psychiatrist
Location: Anderson, South Carolina
Facility: Acute Care Hospital – Behavioral Health Unit
Start: May 2026 (Dates TBD)

Opportunity Overview
An established hospital in Anderson, SC is seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist for inpatient locum coverage due to maternity leave. Coverage will be 24-hour call with a supportive team environment.

Key Details
Practice Setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit
Shift: 24-hour call (8:00 AM – 8:00 AM)
Call Ratio: 1:4 (only one provider on call at a time)
Providers in Practice: 4 Physicians
APP Support: 1 Mid-Level Provider
Average Census: ~20 patients/day
Patient Mix: 60% Adult | 40% Geriatric
EMR: EPIC / Allscripts
Trauma Level: III
Credentialing Timeframe: 60–90 days

Responsibilities
Inpatient psychiatric evaluations and management
Prescribing controlled substances as appropriate
Pre-admission screening review & CMS-compliant documentation
Weekly care plan documentation
Discharge summaries and medication reconciliation
Supervision of NP

Requirements
Board Certified Psychiatry
Active South Carolina medical license
Fellowship training preferred
Flight, hotel, rental car, and mileage reimbursed
