Gyn Oncology PA in Coastal Southern California – OR + Clinic + Inpatient Variety

Job description

A Southern California oncology program is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to support a Gynecologic Oncologist for an extended locum assignment. This position offers a varied scope that includes surgical first assisting, inpatient rounding, and outpatient clinic responsibilities.

The PA will work as part of a small team alongside one physician, so the ideal candidate will have prior Gyn Oncology experience and be comfortable working with a high degree of independence. Surgical Gyn Oncology experience is strongly preferred, although candidates with substantial clinic-based Gyn Oncology experience may also be considered.

Start Date: 9/7/2026
Contract Length: Approximately 5 months, with possible extension
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5pm
Practice Setting:
• Outpatient clinic
• Inpatient rounding
• Operating room / surgical first assist
• Coverage across two Southern California locations
Cases/Procedures:
• Gynecologic Oncology
• Surgical first assist
• Inpatient post-surgical rounding
• Outpatient Gyn Oncology care
Support Staff: Work directly with a Gynecologic Oncologist. Small, closely integrated clinical team
EMR: Epic
Requirements:
• Physician Assistant
• Active California license required
• 2–3+ years of experience preferred
• Gyn Oncology experience required
• Surgical Gyn Oncology experience strongly preferred
• Must be comfortable working independently
We pay weekly, cover malpractice insurance, and handle credentialing in-house!

• Monday–Friday daytime schedule with no call
