Locums Opportunity – GYN/Oncology Surgeon

Job description

We are seeking a GYN/Oncology Surgeon to provide ongoing locums coverage with a reputable health system in Maryland. This is an excellent opportunity for a provider who enjoys surgical backup, consults, and high-acuity women’s health. LOCAL providers strongly preferred.

📅 Schedule

7–12 days per month

Minimum of 7 days/month required

📞 Call Coverage

Primary focus of the assignment

Typically on call at least 50% of your time on-site

Some stretches may be 1 week or 4 days straight

Mix of day consults + night call coverage

👥 Patient & Practice Details

Majority of work is call-based (consults, urgent needs, surgical backup)

Residency program present – consult flow/first call TBD

GYN/ONC surgeons may back up OB/GYNs if complications occur in OR

🏥 Support Staff

Daytime APP (Tue–Fri) for clinical support

Office staff for scheduling & posting cases

Clinic support as needed: MAs, nurse navigators, front desk

Residents may assist on some nights, but call may be first-call at times

No additional procedures outside standard GYN/Oncology scope
