Locum Tenens Gynecologic Oncologist - Full Time Preferred

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Gynecologic Oncologist for comprehensive locum tenens coverage with an established cancer program in Pennsylvania. This opportunity offers a diverse mix of outpatient care, complex gynecologic oncology surgery, inpatient management, and call coverage within a tertiary academic medical center.

Assignment Details
Start: November 1, 2026
Contract: Through February 28, 2027
Potential extension based on ongoing recruitment needs
Full-time coverage preferred
Partial availability may be considered
Practice settings: Hospital, outpatient clinic, and academic/teaching environment


Schedule

The schedule will be coordinated around provider availability and may include:

Outpatient clinic sessions
Gynecologic oncology operating room coverage
Inpatient rounding and consultations
Weekday, evening, and weekend call
Holiday coverage as needed

Clinical Responsibilities
Evaluate and manage new and established gynecologic oncology patients
Provide surgical and medical management of gynecologic cancers
Perform inpatient rounding and hospital consultations
Manage oncologic emergencies
Coordinate care with multidisciplinary cancer teams
Provide long-term postoperative and cancer surveillance care

Procedures and Case Mix
Minimally invasive gynecologic oncology surgery
Robotic-assisted procedures
Open oncologic surgery
Cancer staging procedures
Tumor debulking and cytoreductive surgery
Comprehensive inpatient gynecologic oncology care

Patient Volume
Approximately 15–25 patients per clinic day
Adult female patient population
Mix of new consultations and follow-up visits
Practice Support
Front-desk staff
Medical assistants
Registered nurses
Office manager
Office coordinator
Established multidisciplinary cancer-care resources

Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gynecologic Oncology
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Gynecologic Oncology fellowship
Active Pennsylvania medical license strongly preferred
Candidates able to obtain a Pennsylvania license before the start date may be considered, although state processing delays could affect eligibility
Active DEA registration
Controlled substance registration, if applicable
Ability to independently manage complex patients in clinic, hospital, operating room, and call settings
Three to five years of post-fellowship experience preferred
Robotic surgery training and advanced minimally invasive gynecologic surgery experience preferred
