OB/GYN Locums in Alaska | Low Volume + 24-Hr Call | Epic EMR

Job description

Aya Locums is seeking a Board-Certified OB/GYN physician for a locum tenens assignment at a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital serving a tight-knit community in Southeast Alaska.

This position offers a manageable, low-volume schedule with both outpatient clinic and inpatient call responsibilities. Providers will support clinic coverage and participate in Labor & Delivery and ED call, with continuous backup including a second OB/GYN on call, 24/7 ED coverage, and hospitalist support.

SCHEDULE & COVERAGE
Clinic: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm (8-hour days)
Call: Approximately 7 days per month (1st or 2nd call)
Call Structure: 24-hour L&D/ED call, typically in 2–3 day blocks with clinic days in between
FTE: 0.25 (no more than one week per month)
Assignment Length: 6 months to start, possibility of extension
Target Start: 4/14/2026 (Expedited credentialing anticipated — AK license and DEA required at submission)

PATIENT & PRACTICE DETAILS
Clinic Volume: ~10 patients/day
L&D Volume: 0–2 patients/day
Beds: 25 total (5 L&D)
Patient Population: Primarily adult, with some pediatric and geriatric patients
Scope: Full-scope general OB/GYN; no expectation for scheduled surgeries unless additional support is available
EMR: Epic (experience required)

COMPENSATION
Clinic: $150–$170/hour
Overtime & Holidays: 1.5x standard rate
24-Hour Call: $1500/day
Weekend Call: $2000/day
Call Back: $250-$270/hour

REQUIREMENTS
Board Certified OB/GYN
Active Alaska medical license (required)
Active DEA
BLS (AHA or Red Cross)
Recent clinical activity within the past 24 months
Epic EMR experience

• Predictable, Part-Time Coverage – Just one week per month (0.25 FTE) to support existing employed coverage.
• CLow Volume, Full-Scope Practice – Average 10 clinic patients/day and 0–2 L&D cases, with strong on-site support.
• Expedited Credentialing Available – Planned fast-track process for providers with an active AK license and DEA.
