Physician OB/GYN- Locum

Location: Socorro, NM 87801\
Pay: $250/hour
EMR: EPIC

We are seeking a qualified OB/GYN Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in Socorro, New Mexico.

Practice & Patient Volume

- 8–10 deliveries per month
- Fewer than 15 patients per day in clinic
- Approximately 21% C-section rate
- Mostly low-risk pregnancies with occasional high-risk cases
- Staff includes 2 OB/GYNs, RN, and MA
- C-section assistance available when on call

Call Schedule

- Clinic: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Night Call: 5:00 PM–8:00 AM
- Weekend Call: Friday 5:00 PM–Monday 8:00 AM
- Provider is on call while working in the clinic

Board Certification Requirements

- Current board certification or active participation in the certification examination process
- Certification must be achieved within 5 years leading to certification in OB/GYN by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Privileging Requirements

Recent case logs must demonstrate:

- At least 50 vaginal deliveries within the past 12 months
- At least 20 C-sections within the past 12 months
- At least 25 gynecological surgical procedures within the past 12 months
- At least 5 major abdominal gynecological cases

Required OB/L&D Skills

- Management of low- and high-risk pregnancies
- FHR interpretation, including NST/CST/FSE
- OB ultrasound performance and interpretation
- Routine vaginal deliveries
- Low-forceps delivery
- C-section decision-making and performance
- Complicated deliveries, including breech, multiple births, abruptions, and C-sections
- Repair of 3rd- and 4th-degree lacerations

- D&C
- Hysterectomy
- Uterine suspension
- Anterior/posterior repair
- Tumor resection
- Incontinence and infertility procedures
- Repair of bowel injury
- Appendectomy
- Diagnostic/minor laparoscopy
- Tubal ligation
- Lysis of adhesions
- Chromopertubation
- Ectopic pregnancy procedures
- Oophorectomy
- Cystectomy
- Extensive lysis of adhesions

Travel & Lodging

- Lodging: $132/day
- Rental Car: $40/day
- Mileage reimbursement available
- Personal vehicle required for mileage reimbursement
