Plastic Surgery & Hand Trauma Locum Tenens Opportunity
Charleston, West Virginia
Aya Locums is seeking a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon with hand trauma experience for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Charleston, West Virginia. This assignment offers a collaborative practice environment, a diverse case mix, and the potential for long-term coverage.
Position Details
Location: Charleston, WV
Specialty: Plastic Surgery & Hand Trauma
Start Date: As soon as credentialed (target start by August 31, 2026)
Assignment Duration: Initial 6-month commitment with the option to extend
Schedule
Coverage is needed one week per month, from Thursday at 7:00 AM through the following Thursday at 7:00 AM. Responsibilities include clinic, operating room, and call coverage.
Practice Environment
Coverage will be provided across both an Ambulatory Surgery Center and a hospital setting. The physician will join an established team consisting of three physicians and three advanced practice providers. Additional support includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, medical assistants, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and clerical staff.
Support staff are available during clinic coverage. Call-only coverage does not include on-site support staff.

Clinical Responsibilities
The provider will manage a broad range of plastic surgery and hand trauma cases, including:
• Hand trauma and reconstructive procedures
• Carpal tunnel syndrome
• Trigger finger and other hand-related conditions
• Body contouring procedures
• Cosmetic surgery
• Breast reconstruction for oncology patients
Qualifications
• Board Certification in Plastic Surgery required
• Active state medical license required
• DEA registration required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Demonstrated hand trauma experience required
• Experience with body contouring, cosmetic surgery, and breast reconstruction required
Credentialing
Estimated credentialing timeframe is approximately 60 days.
Licensure
The facility is willing to consider candidates requiring licensure. Physicians may qualify through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) or obtain a West Virginia Temporary License.
