Job Description: Medical Oncologist / Hematologist
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and expert Medical Oncologist/Hematologist to join our ambulatory care team. This role is focused on clinical excellence, providing comprehensive care from diagnosis through survivorship. You will work within a sophisticated clinical infrastructure, utilizing modern treatment delivery systems and collaborating with a robust multidisciplinary support network to ensure a seamless patient journey.
Schedule & Availability
Status: Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
Shift Times: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Frequency: 5 days per week
Start Date: As soon as credentialed
Clinical Responsibilities & Environment
Patient Volume: 16–18 patients per day.
Setting: Ambulatory Care.
Treatment Delivery: Utilize a co-located, modern Infusion Center for advanced treatment administration.
Collaboration: Partner with nurse navigators and social workers to support patients through all stages of care.
System Infrastructure: * Access to a 17-bed inpatient oncology unit with daily multidisciplinary rounds.
Participation in weekly tumor boards and a rapid diagnosis clinic.
Utilization of two radiation centers, clinical trials, and tele-genetics.
EMR: Cerner.
Support Staff & Resources
You will be supported by an extensive multidisciplinary team, including:
Dedicated RN staff, Nurse Navigators, and Social Workers.
On-site Pharmacy and liaisons for oral medications.
Research Coordinators and Genetic Counselors.
Comprehensive programs through the Cancer Resource Center, including survivorship and bereavement support.
Submission & Certification Requirements
Licensure: Active California Medical License (Mandatory).
Board Certification: Board Certified in Medical Oncology is highly preferred. Candidates Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology will also be considered.
Education: Completion of an accredited post-graduate training program (Required).
Certifications: Active DEA (Required) and BLS (Highly preferred; can be processed during credentialing).
Background: Clean malpractice and background history (Required).
