Oncology Nurse Practitioner – Full-Time needed in Coos Bay, OR

Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an additional Advanced Practice Provider (NP) to join a collaborative and growing Oncology service line.
This is a permanent, full-time position requiring residency within the immediate local area (relocation may be required). Locum-to-perm candidates will be considered.

SCHEDULE & CALL

Shift Type: Days

Schedule: Four (4) 10-hour shifts per week

Nights: None

Weekends: None

Call: Paid call shared equally

PRACTICE SETTING

Primarily Outpatient with occasional Inpatient consults

Comprehensive Cancer Center services including:

Radiation therapy

Chemotherapy

Medical oncology

Cancer support services

Clinical trials

19-chair infusion room

In-house pharmacy

Nurse navigation

Radiation oncology and laboratory services located within the center

Collegial, high-caliber infusion nursing team

Current team: 2 Oncologists and 1 NP (Locum)

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Function as a member of the clinical patient care team

Perform tasks and procedures consistent with advanced practice training and licensure

Deliver evidence-based, compassionate oncology care

Communicate effectively with referring physicians and interdisciplinary teams

Utilize EPIC EMR efficiently

Proficiency with computers, office equipment, and EPIC EMR

Maintains confidentiality and regular, punctual attendance

PHYSICAL / MENTAL / ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and stretching

Adequate hearing and visual acuity (including color vision)

Fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination

Ability to assist patients with ambulation and transfers using proper body mechanics

Compliance with standard precautions (exposure to blood and bodily fluids)

Effective communication in person and via telephone

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Average Compensation: $135,626.50 annually (based on experienced full-time provider, 40 hours/week)

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

Required:

Board Certified NP or PA

Oregon license (or willingness to obtain)

Clean malpractice history/background

Most recent NPDB Self-Query Report (within 30 days, required at presentation)

Full candidate presentation required prior to name clear

NP Candidates:

AONCP certification (or in process) – Required


Additional Requirements:

Oncology experience in inpatient and/or outpatient setting (preferred to highly preferred)

Residency within local area required
