Hematology/Oncology Locums – Alaska

Start Date: January 5, 2026
Contract Length: January–May 2026 (Locums-to-Perm opportunity)
Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours | No Call

Highlights

✅ Schedule: M–F, 7:30a–4:30p | 2 weeks on / 1 week off rotation preferred | 4x10s or 5x10s
✅ Practice Setting: Outpatient clinic with occasional rounding at nearby hospital (walking distance)
✅ Volume: ~12–13 patients/day (1 hr new consults, 30 min follow-ups) | Support from 3 MDs + 2 NPs

Position Details

Coverage Type: Scheduled only; no after-hours call

“Doc of the Day” Rotation: May be asked to provide daytime consults during business hours

Support Staff: 3 FTE MDs, 1 FTE NP, 1 per diem NP

Orders/Charting: Paper orders for infusions

EMR: Currently Cerner, transitioning to Epic

Hospital: Level II Trauma Center

Requirements

Board Certification: Hematology & Oncology (Double Boarded required)

License: Active Alaska license required

Experience: Prior outpatient + hospital rounding preferred

Credentialing: 6–8 weeks (typical)

DEA: Required

Travel: Covered (with caps)
