Hematology/Oncology Locums in Southeast Alaska | 5 Days per Month | No Call | Epic

Job description

Start: October 2026 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: 26 weeks (approved through 3/30/27)
Coverage: Outpatient hematology/oncology; both hospital and clinic privileges required (located in the same building)
Schedule: 5 days per month, 8:00-17:00 with a 1-hour lunch break; remote inbox coverage included
Call: No call
Volume: 12-16 patients per day; average daily census 12
Practice Setting: Critical access facility, outpatient setting; working solo
Procedures: Bone marrow biopsy; infusion and medical oncology/hematology
Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
Orientation: 8 hours of non-billable orientation

Outpatient hematology/medical oncology evaluations, treatment planning, and follow-up
Infusion oversight and management
Perform bone marrow biopsies as appropriate
Remote inbox coverage between scheduled onsite days
Timely documentation in Epic

Requirements
Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology
Alaska license and DEA required at time of presentation (no licensing assistance offered)
BLS or ACLS required; PALS preferred
COVID-19 vaccination required - no exemptions
24 months of case logs documenting hematology/medical oncology services representative of the scope and complexity of privileges requested (waived for applicants who completed training within the previous year)
Clean file required due to expedited credentialing

Credentialing
Standard credentialing runs approximately 90 days from application submission; fast-track and expedited options available in some instances. Temporary privileges available up to 120 days.
