Hematology/Oncology Physician – Locum Tenens
Job description
We are seeking a Board Certified Hematology/Oncology Physician for part-time locum tenens coverage in Ketchikan, Alaska.
The physician will provide outpatient hematology and medical oncology services, including infusion-related care and bone marrow biopsies. The role also includes scheduled remote inbox coverage, offering flexibility for a physician interested in a part-time, long-term assignment.
Location
Ketchikan, Alaska
The hospital and clinic are located within the same building.
Schedule & Work Environment
Part-time coverage
Approximately 5 days per month
8:00 AM–5:00 PM
1-hour lunch break
Remote inbox coverage available for scheduled days
No call
Outpatient setting
Average daily patient volume: approximately 12–16 patients
Adult and geriatric patient population
Physician will work independently
Critical Access Hospital setting
Adult Level IV Trauma environment
Clinical Responsibilities
Hematology and medical oncology consultations
Medical oncology management
Hematology services
Infusion and medical oncology/hematology
Bone marrow biopsies
Outpatient cancer care and follow-up
Remote inbox management
Requirements
Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology
Alaska medical license required
Alaska license must be in hand at presentation
DEA required
BLS, ACLS, or PALS required
PALS preferred
Epic EMR
Recent hematology/medical oncology experience required
Case documentation demonstrating relevant hematology/medical oncology experience within the previous 24 months
Must be comfortable working independently
