Locum Tenens Physician – Hematology/Oncology

Position Details:

Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients

Setting: Outpatient oncology clinic with limited inpatient call coverage

Responsibilities:

Evaluate and treat hematology and oncology patients
Participate in tumor board meetings
Order labs, imaging, and treatment plans
Prescribe medications and chemotherapy regimens
Provide after-hours and weekend call coverage

Required Procedures:

General Hematology and Oncology management
Chemotherapy oversight (administration by oncology nurses)
Inpatient consults and follow-up

EMR System: Epic

Support Staff: 2 APPs, oncology nursing staff, and radiation oncologists onsite

Days Per Month: 4 clinic days per week with shared 1:3 call rotation

On-Call/Weekends: Yes – 1:3 evening call and weekend call from Friday 4:00 PM to Monday 7:00 AM

Requirements:
Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology
Active Connecticut license in hand
BLS certification
NPDB Self-Query pulled within the same month as submission
Must be local (only mileage reimbursed)

• Outpatient-focused assignment covering a 3-month maternity leave
• Expedited credentialing available if needed
• Established practice with APP and radiation oncology support
