Locum - Physician - Hematology Oncology Waterloo, IA

Job description

We are seeking a Board Certified, Fellowship-Trained Hematologist/Oncologist for a full-time locum opportunity in Waterloo, Iowa. This position is primarily outpatient, with minimal inpatient consult responsibilities, caring for adult patients (18+). The provider will perform hematology and oncology consultations, follow-up care, oversee antineoplastic therapy, bone marrow biopsies, phlebotomies, IV IgG, and iron therapy. The schedule is typically Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with providers expected to cover at least two weeks per month, including phone-only call for one week and one weekend per month. The practice uses EPIC EMR and is supported by 2 APPs, dedicated nursing staff, and a multidisciplinary team. Candidates must be Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology (or Board Certified in Oncology with strong Hematology/Oncology experience), hold an active Iowa license or IMLC, and have completed a Hematology/Oncology fellowship.

• Flexible Full-Time Schedule – Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, 16 shifts per month, with phone-only call one week and one weekend per month.
• Comprehensive Hematology/Oncology Practice – Outpatient-focused care with consults, follow-ups, antineoplastic therapy, bone marrow biopsies, IV IgG, iron therapy, and phlebotomies, supported by EPIC EMR and a multidisciplinary team.
• Teaching Opportunity – Work with adult patients in a collaborative practice that offers teaching opportunities, minimal inpatient consults, and support from 2 APPs.
