Hematology/Oncology Physician Needed in Prestonsburg, KY | 3 Days/Week | No Call | 12-Month Opportunity | Licensure Assistance

Job description

Start: September 1, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed - can start earlier)
Length: 52 weeks (12-month commitment preferred)
Coverage: Outpatient hematology/oncology clinic, solo provider
Schedule: 3 days per week preferred, 8:00-17:00 (5x8s template). Client is also open to two providers alternating 1- or 2-week blocks.
Call: No call
Volume: Approximately 15 patients per day; roughly 20% new patients and 80% follow-ups
Case Mix: 60% hematology / 40% solid tumor
Practice Setting: Outpatient oncology clinic / private practice
Support: One APP on site daily assisting with follow-ups, supportive care, documentation, and orders in collaboration with the physician; dedicated oncology-trained RNs supporting infusion

Outpatient heme/onc evaluations, treatment planning, and follow-up. Standard medical oncology supervision model. Participation in tumor board. High-acuity cases such as acute leukemias are referred to tertiary centers. Timely documentation in Meditech.

Requirements
Board Certified in Hematology and Medical Oncology
Recent patient-facing experience required
Kentucky license required (open to licensure - client covers application fees)
Credentialing timeline: approximately 60 days
CV required with all gaps over 30 days explained
8:00-17:00 clinic days, 3 days per week preferred
