Hematology/Oncology Locum Opportunity – Ephrata, PA (Will license)

Job description

Start Date: July/August 2026 (Target Start: July 27, 2026)
Assignment Length: 13+ weeks with ongoing need; minimum 6-month commitment preferred
Location: Ephrata, Pennsylvania

Practice Highlights

• Adult Hematology & Oncology patient population
• Established patient panel in a rural community setting
• Average 15 patients per day
• Case mix: 60% Hematology / 40% Oncology
• Provider will manage:
• Solid Tumor Oncology
• Benign Hematology
• Malignant Hematology

Schedule

• Full-time coverage
• 5 clinic days per week
• 8-hour day shifts
• Clinic hours begin at 8:00 AM
• First patient: 8:15–8:30 AM
• Last patient: 3:30 PM
• 30-minute lunch included

Call Coverage

Call Rotation: 1:2

Weeknight Call

• 10 nights per month
• 4:15 PM – 8:00 AM
• Typically 2–3 calls between 5:00 PM–9:00 PM
• Rarely any calls after 9:00 PM
• Covers ER and hospital team

Weekend Call

• 2 weekends per month
• 24-hour call coverage
• Includes 2 hours of rounding on Saturday and Sunday

Admissions: Consulting service only; Hospitalists handle admissions.

Facility & Support

• Clinic and hospital-based practice
• EPIC EMR
• 14-chair infusion center
• 2-bed infusion room
• Oncology-certified nursing staff
• Radiation Oncology onsite
• Onsite pharmacist support
• Participation in disease-specific and general tumor boards

Team Structure

• 1.3 Hematology/Oncology Physicians
• 3 Advanced Practice Providers

Procedures

No requirement for:

• Bone Marrow Biopsies
• Lumbar Punctures
• Port Access
• Bone Marrow Transplant Consults/Care

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology
• Active DEA
• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Pennsylvania license preferred
• Providers willing to obtain a Pennsylvania license are encouraged to apply

Credentialing

• Approximately 90 days
• Temporary privileges available for clean files
