Facility:
This is a 222-bed hospital that serves as the Regional Referral Center for over 300,000 people and is the only facility in the area with all major service lines and 24/7 hospitalist support. The facility features a Duke Cancer Care Affiliated program with prestigious accreditations from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, and American College of Radiology Radiation Oncology Practice Accreditation.

Opportunity:
Hematologist/Oncologist

Job Details:
• Join a collegial and supportive group of five providers including a physician and three Advanced Practice Providers
• Enjoy an estimated 95% outpatient and 5% inpatient mix with APPs typically managing inpatient rounding
• Office hours from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday with patient care from 8 AM to noon and 1 PM to 5 PM
• New patient consults scheduled for 60 minutes and follow-ups for 15-30 minutes
• Average patient load of 18-25 patients per day
• Call is currently handled by phone, 1:3 rotation with very few calls and triage nurse support
• Participate in weekly tumor board meetings
• Access to clinical research trial portfolio with comprehensive support team including genetic counselor and dedicated research associate
• Work with three assigned rooms where patients are roomed by RN with comprehensive assessments performed
• Collaborate with strong primary care team, 10 RNs, 2 navigators, 1 RN case manager, 2 pharmacists, and comprehensive support staff
• Provide oncology consultations as needed for hospital admissions
• ED physicians handle phone consults with acute leukemics referred to higher levels of care
