Assignment Details:

Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: TBD
Coverage Type: Inpatient Hospital Service (with optional outpatient coverage support)
Practice Setting: Hospital Inpatient Service
Patient Population: Adult
Average Patients Per Day: 20–25

Clinical Expectations:

Lead inpatient medical oncology service
Supervise advanced practice providers (APPs)
Evaluate and manage all new consults
Treat malignant and benign oncology cases
Manage inpatient malignant medical oncology patients
Provide hematology consult coverage across full range of cases
Must be comfortable working across inpatient and outpatient oncology/hematology settings

Schedule & Call:

Inpatient service: 8–10 hour clinical days
Outpatient (if assigned): 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, same-day documentation required
Documentation expectations:
Inpatient: same-day documentation required
Outpatient: same-day documentation required (max 3 days turnaround allowed)
Call structure:
7-day blocks (Monday 8:00 AM – following Monday 8:00 AM)
Overnight call from home
Medical oncology-specific calls only
Minimal call volume due to nurse triage and hospitalist support
APP Support:
1 APP Monday–Friday
1 APP on weekends for rounding support

Requirements:

State License: Minnesota license OR IMLC only
Board Certification: Hematology and Oncology required
Certifications: Not specified
Experience: Must have inpatient malignant oncology experience and broad hematology consult competency
DEA: Not specified
Credentialing Timeframe: ~90 days
