Job Title:Hematology/Oncology Physician

Shift :8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Schedule : 3–5 days per week

Location: Onsite at Elmhurst

Type : Per Diem

Position Summary
A Hematology & Oncology Physician at NYC Health + Hospitals provides comprehensive care for patients with blood disorders and cancer in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The physician diagnoses, treats, and manages hematologic and oncologic conditions while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
- 10–12 patients per shift
- Infusion patient volume varies depending on staffing
- Mostly new consults vs follow-ups
- Approximately 70% oncology / 30% hematology patient population
- Dedicated infusion center: Yes
- Provider may work across clinic and infusion center floors depending on assignment
- Outpatient panels: 2–4 hours per day
- Work includes infusion center coverage and clinic coverage
- Primarily clinic-based
- Call / Overtime
- No call required
- No overtime

Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Minimum 3 years of experience preferred
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology and Oncology
- Active or eligible New York State medical license
- Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
- Experience working with diverse and underserved patient populations preferred

Preferred Skills
- Experience in academic or community oncology programs
- Knowledge of chemotherapy and infusion protocols
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary environments
- Commitment to patient advocacy and equitable healthcare delivery
