Hematology/Oncology – 3 Days/Month Outpatient Locums – Southeastern Ohio

Job description

A regional health system in southeastern Ohio is seeking a Hematology/Oncology physician for recurring, very part-time outpatient coverage in Cambridge, OH.

Assignment Details:
• Schedule: ~3 clinic days per month, weekdays only, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Setting: Outpatient hematology/oncology clinic
• Volume: ~14–18 adult patients/day; no more than 3 new patients/day
• Mix: Approx. 60% hematology / 40% oncology
• Typical cases: Breast and colon cancers plus general heme
• Duties: Office visits only; no procedures. Responsibilities include evaluation of new patients, chemotherapy initiation, management of blood disorders and treatment planning per NCCN guidelines, including ordering and reauthorizations.
• Support: 2 APPs, 1 radiation oncologist and a dedicated RN supporting the locum physician.

Ideal Candidate:
• Board-certified Medical Oncologist (Hematology/Oncology preferred)
• Comfortable with community-based adult oncology and heme populations
• Interested in a recurring, low-commitment schedule to supplement other work or transition toward retirement
