Hematology/Oncology Locums in South Central Pennsylvania | Outpatient Clinic + Inpatient Consults

Job description

Start: November 2, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: 13 weeks (approved through 3/31/2027, ongoing full-time need)
Coverage: Outpatient clinic with inpatient and ED consultation support across two community hospital campuses
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00-16:30; full-time preferred, minimum 3 days/week accepted
Call: 1 week/month rotation including nights and weekends; inpatient and phone call, 0-2 calls/day
Volume: Average 15 patients/day; approximately 2 new patients/day; 2/3 oncology, 1/3 hematology; no pediatrics
Practice Setting: Community cancer center accredited by the American College of Surgeons, supported by a 274-bed acute care hospital
Procedures: No bone marrow biopsies, no lumbar punctures; port access performed by RN staff

Outpatient hematology/oncology evaluations, treatment planning, and follow-up care
Templates allow 20 minutes for pre-treat and established follow-ups, 40 minutes for new hematology and hospital follow-ups, and 60 minutes for new oncology consults
Inpatient and ED consultation before or after clinic (1-2 hours); secure chat coverage from the hospital during clinic hours
Supervising provider coverage one morning and one afternoon each week for urgent patient needs
Clinical scope includes lung, breast, prostate, and colorectal malignancies with some outliers; blood cancers and targeted therapy onboarding typically referred to a tertiary center; no inpatient chemotherapy or BMT care
Infusion services include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, IVIG, IV iron, and non-chemotherapy injections
Radiation oncology coordination with navigator support and tumor board participation
Documentation supported by Nuance dictation

Requirements
Board Certified in Hematology and/or Oncology (double boarded preferred)
Fellowship training required
Active Pennsylvania license or IMLC/LOQ in hand for screening (open to licensure, will pay for Pennsylvania license)
Credentialing timeframe approximately 90 days
Less experienced providers will be considered

Support includes 1 NP and 1 virtual hematologist - provider will not be the sole provider on site
No admin time built into the schedule
