Shift:
Clinic: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Night call available/required as part of the call rotation
Weekend coverage required
Call rotation: approximately 1 week/month
Call type: inpatient and phone
Typical call volume: 0–2 calls/day
Full-time ongoing coverage preferred
Minimum facility coverage: 3 days/week

Start Date: November 2, 2026 / As soon as credentialed
End Date: March 31, 2027

Position Details:
Patient Population: Adults only; approximately 15 patients/day, with an average of 2 new patients/day. Approximately 2/3 oncology and 1/3 hematology.

Setting:
Acute Care Hospital
Outpatient Hematology/Oncology Clinic
Infusion/Treatment Center
Inpatient and Emergency Department consultation support
Community-based cancer care setting

Responsibilities:
Hematology/Oncology clinic coverage
Inpatient and ER consultation/patient care guidance
Hospital consults before or after clinic
Secure hospital communications during clinic hours
Supervision coverage for a morning and afternoon each week
Participation in tumor board
Coordination with Radiation Oncology
Oncology and hematology patient management
Chemotherapy, immunotherapy, IVIG, IV iron, and non-chemotherapy injection management
Port access coordination; RNs perform port access
Coverage across Chambersburg and Waynesboro locations

Required Procedures:
Port access experience/knowledge
No bone marrow biopsies required
No lumbar punctures required
No BMT consults or care required
No inpatient chemotherapy

EMR System: Not specified
Support Staff:
1 NP
1 Virtual Hematologist
Radiation Oncology Navigator
Nursing support for port access and infusion services
Provider will not be the sole provider on site

Days Per Month: Full-time ongoing coverage; minimum of 3 days/week accepted
On-Call/Weekends:Weekend coverage required
Night call required
Approximately 1 week/month call rotation
Inpatient and phone call
Approximately 0–2 calls/day

Requirements:
Board Certification; double-boarded preferred
Fellowship required
Active Pennsylvania license preferred; IMLC/LOQ considered
Willingness to obtain Pennsylvania licensure
NPDB self-query within 6 months

  • Full-time ongoing Hematology/Oncology coverage approved through March 31, 2027.
  • Diverse adult oncology and hematology practice with approximately 15 patients per day
  • Strong multidisciplinary support including an NP, virtual hematologist, radiation oncology navigator, and infusion services
