Position Type: Locums – Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Full-time coverage, 7 days/week unit (flexible rotation)
Setting: Inpatient – Blood & Marrow Transplant (BMT) Unit

Team Model: Round daily with 4 other APPs, supporting an expert transplant & heme/onc team
Average Census: 10–12 patients
Call: No night call — covered by the Hospitalist team
Unit: Dedicated BMT service (malignant heme, post-transplant care, relapse cases, and co-morbidities common)
What You’ll Do
Provide comprehensive inpatient management for hematologic blood cancers & cellular transplant patients
Coordinate care, admit/discharge, manage complications, and provide continuity post-transplant
Collaborate daily with APP team, hematologists, and hospitalists
Deliver safe, high-quality evidence-based care in a high-volume academic transplant environment
Candidate Requirements
Credentials: NP (ACNP or AGACNP) or PA
Experience:
Strong background in hematologic malignancies, BMT, or malignant heme
Hospitalist or transplant inpatient experience strongly preferred
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (required)
Skills: Able to manage high-acuity patients, coordinate complex care, and function independently in an academic environment
Key Details
Shift: 12-hours, daytime coverage, full-time rotation across a 7-day schedule
Environment: Inpatient transplant unit, complex hematology/oncology cases
Support: 4 APPs + physicians daily
