Monday – Thursday
8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
16 shifts per month
8-hour shifts
One weekend per month
On-call: One week + one weekend per month (phone calls only)

Job Description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Hematology/Oncology physician for a full-time locum opportunity in an established outpatient oncology practice.
The provider will primarily work in a clinic setting managing adult patients (18+) with hematologic and oncologic conditions.
Responsibilities include new consultations, follow-up visits, and overseeing administration of antineoplastic therapies within the clinic. Bone marrow biopsies and management of infusion therapies (IVIG, iron therapy, phlebotomy) are required.

Inpatient duties are minimal. Hospitalists admit all patients, and the locum physician typically provides phone consult support with very rare in-person hospital consults.

Practice Details
Clinic volume: 16–20 patients per day
Hospital census: 0–2 (very infrequent)
Appointment slots: 15–20 min follow-ups; 60 min consults
2 Advanced Practice Providers (no supervision required)
Nursing ratio: 2 nurses per provider
Full ancillary support: lab, pharmacy, social worker, dietician, referral staff
EMR: EPIC
Teaching opportunities available

Requirements
Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology
Fellowship trained
Active Iowa license or IMLC
Must be available full-time (Mon–Thurs)
