🛑 SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS (Strict Compliance):
Board Certification: Must be Board Certified in both Hematology and Oncology.
Licensure:
• Active Minnesota License required OR
• Active IMLC eligibility accepted
Certifications Required:
• BLS
• ACLS or BLS (per facility requirements)
• DEA
Experience Required:
• Minimum 2 years of Hematology/Oncology experience
EMR Experience:
• EPIC experience required
Documentation Expectations:
• Same-day documentation required for inpatient encounters
• Outpatient documentation expected same day (maximum 3-day completion)
📋 CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inpatient Oncology Coverage: Manage inpatient malignant medical oncology patients and hematology consults.
Team Leadership: Supervise Advanced Practice Providers and oversee Medical Oncology service operations.
Consult Services: Evaluate and manage all new oncology and hematology consults.
Clinical Care: Treat adult and geriatric patient populations with malignant and benign hematologic and oncologic conditions.
Documentation: Maintain timely and accurate EPIC documentation.
🏥 PRACTICE ENVIRONMENT:
Practice Setting: Hospital Inpatient Oncology Service
Patient Population:
• Adult
• Geriatric
Average Patient Volume:
• 20–25 patients per day
Hospital Size:
• 590 beds
Support Staff:
• 1 APP Monday–Friday
• 1 APP on weekends
EMR System:
• EPIC (Required)
☎️ CALL COVERAGE:
Inpatient Service:
• 8–10 hour inpatient workdays
• Home call coverage overnight
• Medical Oncology calls only
• Monday 8:00 AM through following Monday 8:00 AM
• Flexible scheduling options available
Outpatient Coverage:
• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM schedule
• No routine call required
• Optional assistance with outpatient coverage
⏳ CREDENTIALING & START DATE:
Start Date: ASAP
Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90 days
Orientation: 4 hours (non-billable)
💉 VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS:
COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required.
- Hospital-Based Oncology Practice: Provide inpatient Hematology and Medical Oncology coverage in a large acute-care hospital environment.
- Leadership Opportunity: Lead the Medical Oncology team, supervise Advanced Practice Providers, and manage all new inpatient consults.
- Comprehensive Oncology Care: Manage both malignant and benign oncology cases as well as a full spectrum of hematology consults.
