Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Hematology/Oncology Physician for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in a rural community-based practice setting in Pennsylvania. This full-time assignment offers a balanced mix of hematology and oncology cases, supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team and onsite infusion services. Providers will work in both clinic and hospital consult settings while managing an established patient panel.

This opportunity begins July 27, 2026, with a minimum 6-month commitment and ongoing coverage needs.

About the facility:
This is an acute care hospital with a collaborative oncology program that includes onsite radiation oncology services, a 14-chair infusion center, and dedicated oncology-certified nursing staff. Providers are supported by advanced practice providers, onsite pharmacy resources, and participation in disease-specific and general tumor boards. The practice uses EPIC EMR and offers a well-established workflow with hospitalists managing admissions.

Compensation:
‣ Pay Rate: $525/Hr. - Details can be discussed further after applying to the job posting.

Job Responsibilities:
‣ Provide outpatient and inpatient Hematology/Oncology consultative care
‣ Manage an established adult patient panel
‣ See approximately 15 patients per day
‣ Treat a mix of:
Solid tumor oncology
Benign hematology
Malignant hematology
‣ Participate in shared call rotation coverage
‣ Collaborate with APPs, pharmacists, nursing staff, and hospital teams
‣ Participate in tumor boards and multidisciplinary discussions
‣ Provide inpatient and phone call coverage during assigned call shifts

Qualifications:
‣ Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology
‣ Active Pennsylvania license or IMLC required
‣ DEA required
‣ Minimum 1 year of Hematology/Oncology experience required
‣ Comfortable working in both clinic and hospital consult settings
‣ Clean background preferred for temporary privileges consideration

Working Hours:
‣ Full-time schedule
‣ 5 clinic days per week
‣ 8-hour day shifts
‣ Clinic hours begin at 8:00 AM
‣ First patient scheduled at 8:15/8:30 AM
‣ Last patient scheduled at 3:30 PM
‣ 30-minute lunch included
‣ Call Schedule:
Weekend coverage: 2 weekends per month
Night call: 10 days per month
Call rotation: 1:2
‣ Weeknight Call:
4:15 PM – 8:00 AM
Typically 2–3 patient calls between 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Rarely receive calls after 9:00 PM
Covers ER and hospital team
‣ Weekend Call:
24-hour call coverage
Includes 2 hours of gratis rounding on Saturday and Sunday
