Hospitals Can Close the Gap Between Primary Care Physicians and Specialists
As the field of hospital medicine continues to grow, primary care physicians and specialists are interacting less than ever before, which negatively impacts patient care. Hospitalists and hospital staff can help bridge the gap between to the two by including both groups in decision-making and allowing them to meet and communicate more. Cross training can also improve relationships and communication through engagement and discussion. Lastly, encouraging communication through technology, like messaging systems in EHR software, can help incorporate both inpatient and outpatient physicians to the patient’s care.
We will be exhibiting at this upcoming convention. We hope to see you there!
