Job description

Aya Locums is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide coverage within an inpatient Observation Unit at a large teaching hospital. This role supports coverage for leaves of absence (LOAs) and offers a collaborative environment working alongside attending physicians in a lower-acuity inpatient medicine setting.

-The provider will assist with standard inpatient medical management, observation care, admissions/discharges, post-operative monitoring, and consulting services.

Responsibilities
-Manage patients within the Observation/Inpatient Medicine Unit
-Conduct admissions and discharges
-Provide post-operative monitoring and follow-up care
-Coordinate consulting services
-Deliver standard inpatient medical management
-Collaborate closely with attending physicians and interdisciplinary teams

Schedule
-Full-Time, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts: 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM

Requirements
-Minimum of 2 years of inpatient experience required. Experience must be within a medicine unit at a large teaching hospital

Certifications
-Physician Assistant (PA): Board Certified required
-Nurse Practitioner (NP): Acute Care Certification required
-Active California license required

Credentialing Timeline
-Approximately 6–7 weeks for temporary providers
