Advanced Practitioners - Hospitalist/Emergency

Job Details:

  • Join the esteemed Ayer Neuroscience Institute as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner on the Neurocritical Care team
  • Function as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering care for critical neuroscience patients with neurological and neurosurgical diseases and related disorders
  • Patient population includes complex strokes, skull base surgery, status epilepticus, tumor resections, spinal cord injury, DBS, and other complex diseases
  • Rotate between the intensive care unit and stepdown units
  • Setting: Inpatient, Critical Care, Neurocritical Care
  • Schedule: Full-time, rotating with premium differentials offered
  • No call required
  • Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans
  • Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs including referrals to specialists and other health team members
  • Provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of practice and refer appropriately when needed
  • Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License required (or eligible)
  • Must be a certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in an acute care or neurocritical care setting required
