Hospitalist Physician Assistant Needed – Greater Zionsville Region, IN; near Ulen, IN
Start Date: April 2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks; potential extension

Schedule

Night shift inpatient coverage
12-hour shifts, 7:00p–7:00a
7 consecutive nights every third week
No call required

Practice Details

Acute care hospital inpatient setting
Adult and geriatric patient population
Independent night coverage with physician available on call
Collaborative clinical environment with nursing and support staff
EMR system utilized for documentation

Clinical Scope

Provide inpatient hospitalist care for adult and geriatric patients
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
Perform admissions, cross-coverage, and overnight patient management
Monitor and manage ICU and step-down patients as needed
Manage ventilators, pressors, and critical care interventions within scope of practice
Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams
Document all patient encounters and clinical activity in EMR
Respond to changes in patient condition and provide appropriate clinical intervention

Requirements

Physician Assistant – Hospitalist
Active Indiana license required at time of submission
DEA required
Minimum 2 years of hospitalist experience preferred
Experience managing ventilated and critically ill patients required
Familiarity with Meditech EMR preferred
Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in overnight setting

Credentialing

Credentialing timeframe approximately 60 days
Submission must include active license, DEA, and supporting credentials

Location

Located in the Greater Zionsville region of Indiana, supporting inpatient hospitalist services within a structured night shift schedule.
