APPs work in collaboration with attending physicians, and sub-specialty support is available to facilitate coordinated, patient-centered care delivery.

About the clinician's workday
Clinicians will provide inpatient hospitalist coverage during 12-hour night shifts (1900-0700) on an on-site basis, managing 18-24 patients per day with 12-20 nightly admissions. Responsibilities include rounding on up to 8 CCU patients within an open ICU model, responding to codes and rapid response calls, and independently resuscitating patients prior to additional support arriving. Competency with critical care time billing, vasopressor titration, anti-arrhythmic and nicardipine drip management, central line placement, paracentesis, and initial ventilator management (vent bundle required) is expected. Subsequent vent management is deferred to the Intensivist, who staffs ventilated patients for 8 in-house hours daily.
